Like I said in my previous post you don’t need to spend a lot of money to make a great gift for Valentine’s day. In fact, I feel that self created gifts are often times more creative than gifts that you buy. Here are examples of what I found on Reddit.com for V-day gift ideas.

The supplies for these gifts don’t cost a lot. But you definitely need to spend some time to create them. For me, I probably could not do that origami flower, but I think I could manage making those lego heart necklaces.
Still want to buy flowers and chocolates? My significant other likes flowers, so I plan on buying her some after Valentine’s day, where the prices are a whole lot more reasonable.
What else have you guys thought about?

How to Save Money at Restaurants
The markup on valentines day flowers is terrible. I wanted to get 5 dozen Safeway roses for my wife @ $9.99/ dz… I get her a dozen every once in a while. When I go to safeway the day before valentine’s day, the same dozen was $19.99 each. I’m not a happy camper, and will be doing what FMP does (buying the flowers after valentines day)!
Yeah, $9.99 is pretty standard for roses. I just checked Safeway yesterday and that’s what they had them for. It’s all about buying after the holidays! That’s where all the money saving is.
I don’t know if you have Shoppers near you. There’s one by me and they even beat Safeway. I just found out they have $8.88 roses!!
Nope, don’t have that one. But it sounds like they got some great deals!
